LINDEGAARD: MAN UNITED MAJOR HONOURS REVIEWED

Danish goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard won three trophies during his time at Manchester United. Lindegaard spent five years at the Theatre of Dreams following his transfer from Aalesund in the Norwegian league in 2010.Manchester United were said to have paid an undisclosed fee of around £3.5m to sign the five-cap Denmark national team shot stopper and he didn’t make his debut for the Red Devils until the start of 2011.

Anders Lindegaard played his first game for Manchester United during the FA fourth round tie with Southampton which ended in a 2-1 in favour of the Red Devils.

Lindegaard won his first trophy as a Manchester United during the 2011 Community Shield as the Red Devils scored three goals in the second half to overcome a two-goal deficit at thehalf-time interval. The Danish goalkeeper was an unused substitute throughout the game. Manchester United had trailed to goals from JoleonLescott and EdinDzeko at the break before goals from Chris Smalling and Luis Nani (brace) ensured that Manchester United emerged victorious via a 3-2 win. Nani scored the winning goal in fourtb minute of added time.

Anders Lindegaard was part of the Manchester United squad that won the 2012/13 Premier League title as he won his second major trophy at the club. Manchester United reclaimed their title from the hands of city rivals Manchester City buoyed by the goals scored by new signing Robin Van Persie (RVP). RVP was the star of the show when Anders Lindegaard won his third trophy as a Manchester United player during the 2013 Community Shield.

Dutchman RVP scored two goals to lead Manchester United to a 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic. Manchester United had won the league title for the 2012/13 season, while Wigan Athletic won the FA Cup title in the same season.
