LINDEGAARD IN FOR NEWCASTLE LOSS

Manchester United have not been in the best of shape in terms of their performances during the last few weeks.

After their terrible loss against Blackburn Rovers during New Years Eve, Sir Alex Fergusson decided that a few changes to the team might help to bring about a better prospect and approach to the game for the team.

This change brought about the preference of Anders Lindegaard over David de Gea as the goalkeeper. Wayne Rooney was also brought in for the next match in the Premier League against Newcastle United.

The match against Newcastle could not be more shocking and devastating for Manchester United and their new keeper. The match ended up in a 3-0 score with Anders Lindegaard unable to save most of the attacks made by the Newcastle forwards.

United were also unable to bring about much in attack, and even lost impetus as the clock ticked on – something that is not usually associated with the Reds.

The reason for De Gea’s removal and selection of Lindegaard was due to the fact that he was unable to make that crucial save from the corner which led to Blackburn’s victory. His mistake led to United dropping more crucial points and they will now struggle to challenge local rivals Manchester City for the Premier League crown – backing City at 12/1 back in August may just have been one of the best Premier League bets of the season.

As far as the Newcastle game went, Anders Lindegaard has nothing to say as there was complete miscommunication between the defence and the goalkeeper – including a hapless own goal from one of his own defenders. Whether Lindegaard is kept in for the next game remains to be seen.
